MLS: a ”Leo Messi Stand” at Inter Miami’s future Nu Stadium

Argentina international Lionel Messi will have a stand at Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami's (MLS) future Nu Stadium named in his honour - the ”Leo Messi Stand” - a "rare and unique case in global sport for an active player", the club announced on 27/03/2026.

Inter Miami CF is set to inaugurate the 26,700-seat Nu Stadium when it hosts Austin FC as part of Matchday 6 of the 2026 Major League Soccer regular season on 04/04.

"Traditionally, tributes look to the past. They are built from nostalgia. From memory. This one is different. This one is born from the present. From what is happening right now. From what you feel every time Leo steps onto the pitch. Recognising someone is not always about closing a chapter. Sometimes it is about realising you are witnessing something unique," the Florida-based club said.
