Premier League: higher parachute payments from 2016-17, but over 3 years instead of 4

Clubs relegated from the Barclays Premier League will receive parachute payments during the three seasons following their relegation from the 2016-17 fiscal year, rather than four as is currently the case, announced the English League on 02/06/2015. Clubs who have spent only one season in the Premier League (promotion, and then relegation the following season) will only receive this financial aid in the two seasons following their return to the Sky Bet Championship.

The Premier League and the Sky Bet Football League reached an agreement for the 2016-2019 cycle about the money distributed to the relegated Barclays Premier League clubs and the solidarity payments to the 72 clubs in the second, third and fourth divisions, on 19/02/2015. The clubs in the Championship (second division) will share 30% of the overall sum distributed to to the three relegated Premier League clubs in the third year following their relegation. Clubs in the Sky Bet League One (third division) will receive a 4.5% share and clubs in the Sky Bet League Two (fourth division) will receive 3%.
