Women’s sport: projected global revenues of $3.04bn in 2026, vs $692m in 2022 (Deloitte)

Global revenues in women’s elite sports will reach $3.04bn (€2.6bn) in 2026, up 25% compared to 2025 ($2.41bn / €2.06bn) and 340% compared to $692m (€634m) in 2022, according to Deloitte in its report “Game changers: Unlocking the potential of women’s sports,” published on 08/04/2026.

The $3.04bn in projected revenue for 2026 is broken down as follows:
• 45% from commercial revenue ($1.36bn);
• 25% from broadcast revenue ($765m);
• 30% from matchday revenue ($911m).

North America, where the WNBA and NWSL are notably organised, is expected to account for the largest share of global revenues in 2026 (54%, $1.64bn), while Europe represents 14% ($434m), according to Deloitte.

By sport, basketball and football are expected to generate the highest revenues, each accounting for 35% of the global total.
