Spain/RFEF: cooperation agreement with the Mexican Football Federation for the 2026 World Cup & beyond

The Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol has entered into an agreement with the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) which provides for "collaboration in the training of coaches, referees and technical staff, the implementation of initiatives aimed at technical development and the strengthening of sporting and administrative structures, as well as the promotion of projects in various areas, in particular women's football and the detection of young talent," the RFEF announced on 11/04/2026.

The agreement was signed the day before at the High Performance Centre of the city of Mexico (MEX), the recently refurbished training centre for the FMF’s national teams, as part of a week-long visit to Mexico by Rafael Louzán, president of the Spanish federation. La Roja will play their third match of the 2026 World Cup against Uruguay on 27/06/2026 (Group H) in Guadalajara (at the Estadio Akron), where a "Casa de España" will be set up in the centre of the city, providing "a gathering place for thousands of supporters."
