Ligue 2: from a €33.5m loss for Paris FC to a €1.1m net profit for FC Lorient in 2024-25

Four Ligue 2 BKT clubs reported a net profit for the 2024-25 season, with FC Lorient (promoted to Ligue 1 McDonald's at the end of the season) posting the highest result at €1.1m, while 12 others recorded net losses, including Paris FC (also promoted), which posted the largest deficit at €33.5m, according to the DNCG report on the individual accounts of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs published by the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 08/04/2026.

The 16 second-division clubs (AC Ajaccio and FC Martigues, excluded from national competitions at the end of the 2024-25 season, not included) posted cumulative revenues (excluding transfers) of €190.8m, representing an average of €11.9m, ranging from €6.8m for Red Star FC to €23.5m for FC Metz.

While the cumulative operating result (excluding transfers) of the 16 clubs stood at -€203.6m, the total net loss was reduced to €69.4m after transfers.

The total wage bill of the 16 clubs reached €207m for the 2024-25 season, an average of €12.9m. Paris FC had the highest wage bill (€31.6m), while Rodez Aveyron Football posted the lowest (€5.4m).
