RC Celta: Abanca Balaídos concession extended by 50 years, annual rent of €802,837

RC Celta (LALIGA EA Sports) and the city of Vigo (Galicia, ESP) have approved the extension of the concession for the Abanca Balaídos stadium (24,791 seats) for a period of 50 years, i.e. until 2076, the club announced on 10/04/2026. The agreement includes an option for a further 25 years (until 2101).

The concession provides for an annual rent of €802,837, indexed to inflation (with a maximum cap of 2% per year). The club, which had previously been operating under a concession running until 2034, will be responsible for the maintenance of the stadium and will benefit from its exclusive use.

This agreement is announced as RC Celta and the city could, according to Spanish media reports, submit a bid to host matches of the 2030 World Cup at the venue. Abanca Balaídos could, along with the Nou Mestalla in Valencia, be added to the list of stadiums selected by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for the tournament, following the withdrawal of the Riazor (Deportivo La Coruña) and La Rosaleda (Málaga CF).
