FC Inter Milan: opening of a first academy in Mexico in spring 2026

FC Inter Milan (Serie A Enilive) will open its first academy in Mexico, in the city of Morelia (150 kilometres west of Mexico City), in the spring of 2026, the club announced on 14/04/2026.

The academy will be operated in collaboration with Universidad Montrer. It "marks a further step in the international development strategy of the Inter brand," the club said.

Activities will begin in spring 2026 with an initial phase aimed at high school students already involved in the university’s football programme, before a full launch in summer. The “Inter Academy Montrer MX” will then welcome boys and girls aged five to 17 and will offer training sessions delivered by Inter Academy coaches from Italy.

Mexico will host, like Canada, 13 matches at the 2026 World Cup, while 78 (out of 104) will be held in the United States.
