Eurosport: rights acquired to Ligue 1, Premier League, Serie A and Emirates Cup in the Netherlands

Eurosport has acquired the audiovisual rights, in the Netherlands, to Ligue 1, the Barclays Premier League, the Serie A TIM and the Emirates Cup (pre-season friendly tournament hosted by Arsenal FC in the Emirates Stadium), announced the pay-TV group on 04/06/2015.

Peter Hutton, the CEO of Eurosport, justifies the acquisition of the audiovisual rights to the Serie A by the fact that many Dutch players play in the first Italian division. The rights of these competitions have been acquired from the media rights agency MP & Silva. The value of the contracts was not disclosed; they take effect at the start of the 2015-16 season.

MP & Silva has distributed the international audiovisual rights to the Serie A TIM since 2004
