NBA: 170 million cumulative viewers in the USA for the 2025-26 regular season, record audience since 2002

170 million cumulative viewers watched the NBA 2025-26 regular season on domestic broadcasters’ channels in the United States, a record since 2002 and an increase of 86% compared to 2024-25, the North American league announced on 15/04/2026.

The broadcasters are the ESPN group (The Walt Disney Company), the Prime Video platform (Amazon), the NBCUniversal group and the NBA TV channel.

Among the figures released by the NBA:
• a 13-year record and a 35% increase in the average audience on the various broadcasters' channels;
• 57 games reached an average audience of 2 million viewers;
• 288 billion views were generated on the league's social media, an increase of 13%.

This season is the first in the new domestic media rights cycle for the North American league. The Walt Disney Company, NBCUniversal and Amazon were awarded the media rights to the NBA in the United States for the 2025-2036 cycle (eleven seasons) on 24/07/2024. The deal is worth $76bn (€70bn), or $7bn (€6.4bn) per season, according to The Athletic.
