The DFB has revealed the new logo of the German national team, as well as formalised its new nickname "Die Mannschaft" ("The Team"), on 08/06/2015. The new logo includes a fourth star which represents the 4th World Cup won by Germany in 2014 in Brazil, following those in 1954, 1974 and 1990.

"We wanted to combine the past and present. 'Die Mannschaft' is not just the current team, so we wanted the four stars to also represent past successes, so that all fans can identify with it," stated Oliver Bierhoff, the business manager of the German national team, on 08/06/2015.

The DFB now uses the hashtag #DieMannschaft for its communication on social networks

  • The hashtag #DieMannschaft replaces the former #dfbteam hashtag used for communication on social networks.
  • The new name and team logo are decorated on the bus for the national team.
