Ligue 1: OM looking for new naming partner for the Stade Vélodrome as Orange (telecoms) deal nears expiry

Orange, a French telecommunications operator, will not renew its naming agreement with Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1 McDonald’s) for the Stade Vélodrome beyond its expiry in June 2026, the club confirmed to News Tank on 29/04/2026.

A partner of OM since 1999, Orange notably served as the club’s main shirt sponsor over the 2017-2022 period and had acquired the naming rights of the 66,226-seat stadium for the 2016-2026 cycle, during which it was named Orange Vélodrome. The annual fee paid by Orange over this 10-year partnership was estimated at €2.5m.

Both agreements were signed under the leadership of Stéphane Richard at Orange, who was appointed president of Olympique de Marseille on 10/04/2026 (effective from 02/07).

The Marseille club said it has entered "a phase of direct negotiations" with companies interested in acquiring the stadium’s naming rights.
