UEFA-CAF: Memorandum of Understanding to promote football development in Europe and Africa (2026-2031)

Aleksander Ceferin, president of UEFA, and Patrice Motsepe, president of CAF, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding "aimed at strengthening collaboration, growth and development of football across Europe and Africa" over the 2026-2031 period, in Vancouver (west coast of Canada) on 29/04/2026.

The signing took place ahead of the 76^th FIFA Congress, which will be held on 30/04/2026 in Vancouver, one of the host cities of the 2026 World Cup. Aleksander Ceferin and Patrice Motsepe are both FIFA vice-presidents as presidents of their respective confederations.

This Memorandum of Understanding "underlines the guiding principles shared by CAF and UEFA, highlighting football’s role in promoting inclusion, participation and social cohesion, while reaffirming a joint commitment to solidarity, integrity and openness."
