UEFA-OFC: Memorandum of Understanding to develop football in the two confederations (2026-2031)

UEFA and OFC have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding "that will benefit the development of football across both confederations," they announced on 30/04/2026 in Vancouver (CAN) on the sidelines of the 76th FIFA Congress held in the Canadian city.

The agreement is signed by Slovenian Aleksander Ceferin and Vanuatuan Lambert Maltock, both FIFA vice-presidents as presidents of their respective confederations. It follows similar agreements concluded by the European confederation with CAF, Concacaf and CONMEBOL.

This agreement, with seven main areas of cooperation (see below), runs until 30/06/2031 and "reflects UEFA and OFC’s mutual desire to work side by side to improve the game at all levels, while using their reach and influence to make a positive impact on their communities."

  • UEFA is also engaged in a strategic partnership with the AFC since February 2026, an agreement primarily focused on cooperation in refereeing matters.
