UEFA: Pepsico becomes a partner of the Champions League, Rent-A-Car a partner of the Europa League

Pepsico, through its brands Lay's (snacks), Gatorade (energy drink) and Pepsi Max (beverage), has become a partner of the Champions League, announced the US group on 09/06/2015. The partnership officially begins on 01/07/2015 and will expire at the end of the 2017-18 season.

The American car rental company Rent-A-Car has become a partner of the Europa League for the 2015-2018 cycle, announced UEFA on 09/06/2015. "Our first European office was established in the UK over 20 years ago, and now, through organic growth, acquisition and franchise partnerships, we have a business that spans almost every nation on the continent. We anticipate that this sponsorship will cement awareness of the Enterprise brand across Europe, and will help us to further engage with customers," stated Jim Stoeppler, the vice-president in charge of European brand marketing for Rent-A-Car, on 09/06/2015.

UEFA generated €328.5m in commercial revenues in 2013-14. The Champions League represents 82.5% of these revenues. Each partnership with the event is estimated at between €30m and €40m per year.
