Piracy: the Premier League and the French Rugby Federation become new members of APPS

The general assembly of the Association for the Protection of Sports Programmes (APPS) voted unanimously in favour of the French Rugby Federation and the Premier League joining the association, the association announced on 06/05/2026.

APPS now has 25 members, with the FFR and the English league "joining the board of rights holders, alongside broadcasters and observer members."

"APPS welcomes the arrival of the Fédération Française de Rugby and the Premier League among its members. Their commitment significantly strengthens our alliance and demonstrates that the fight against sports programmes piracy is a shared priority at both national and international level. Together, we will be stronger in advancing the legislative framework and sustainably protecting the value of sport," Caroline Guenneteau, president of APPS and general secretary of beIN Media Group, said.
