With a turnover excluding transfers of €56m for the 2024-25 financial year, Rayo Vallecano de Madrid (LALIGA EA Sports) posted revenues 44% higher than those of RC Strasbourg Alsace (Ligue 1 McDonald's, €38.8m), as the two clubs prepare to face each other in the second leg of their 2025-26 Conference League semi-final on Thursday 07/05/2026 (kick-off at 21:00 CET) at the Stade de la Meinau (32,000 capacity). The Spanish side won the first leg 1-0 at home.

In 2024-25, the wage bill of the club owned by American investment fund BlueCo nonetheless reached €66m, twice that of their opponents (€32m), who are owned by Spaniard Raúl Martín Presa. At the end of that financial year, RCSA posted a net deficit of €78.3m, while the Spanish club recorded a profit of €1.5m.

RC Strasbourg Alsace, who finished top of the league phase, are already guaranteed to receive at least €11.3m from UEFA for their 2025-26 European campaign (excluding the value pillar), compared with €10.8m for fifth-placed Rayo Vallecano.
