2026 World Cup: three opening ceremonies, in Mexico City on 11/06 and Toronto and Los Angeles on 12/06

The first of the three opening ceremonies for the 2026 World Cup will be held at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City (83,000 capacity) ahead of the tournament’s opening match between Mexico and South Africa on 11/06, FIFA announced on 08/05/2026.

The ceremony, featuring artists Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, Maná and Tyla, will begin at 11:30 local time, 90 minutes before kick-off (13:00 local time, 21:00 CET). It will be the first part of a trilogy that will continue in Toronto (Canada) and Los Angeles (United States) on 12/06.

The gates of all three stadiums will open four hours before kick-off. "Exclusive activations, rewards and entertainment" will be offered to fans arriving early at the venues.

• At Toronto Stadium (45,000 capacity), the ceremony will begin at 13:30 local time (19:30 CET) ahead of the Canada - Bosnia and Herzegovina match (kick-off at 21:00 CET), featuring performances from Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Michael Bublé, Nora Fatehi, Sanjoy, Vegedream and William Prince.
