AFCON 2027 in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania: "It will be a huge success" (Patrice Motsepe, CAF)

"Thanks to your leadership and the collaboration of CAF, we have made significant progress and this AFCON will be a huge success," Patrice Motsepe (RSA), president of Confédération Africaine de Football, said during the signing ceremony of the “Joint Resolution” with representatives of the three countries that will host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania) in Nairobi (KEN) on 11 May 2026.

On the sidelines of the “Africa Forward” Summit, the Africa-France business forum, Patrice Motsepe met ministers and football officials from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda to review preparations for the “TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027” (“Pamoja” meaning “together” in Swahili), while one month earlier a plan B involving a possible relocation of AFCON 2027 to South Africa was still being discussed.
