2026 World Cup: PIF (Saudi sovereign wealth fund) official tournament supporter in North America and Asia

The Public Investment Fund (PIF), Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, has entered into a new partnership with FIFA by becoming an "official tournament supporter" of the 2026 World Cup in North America and Asia, the international body announced on 14 May 2026. PIF was already an official partner of the Club World Cup 2025 and also entered into a "multi-year partnership" with Concacaf, the host confederation of the 2026 World Cup, in August 2024.

The agreement, which "reflects a shared commitment to expanding the growth of football at every level, from the grassroots to elite competition, as well as enabling greater participation in sport by unlocking new opportunities", notably involves Savvy Gaming Group, a PIF company dedicated to video games and esports, and Qiddiya City, a mega-project under development near Riyadh (focusing on entertainment, sport and culture).
