Hélène Schrub, managing director of FC Metz (relegated to Ligue 2 BKT at the end of the 2025-26 season), has decided to leave her position, the club announced on 18 May 2026. She had been appointed in April 2016, becoming the first woman to hold this role at a French professional football club.

"Having joined the club in 2006, Hélène Schrub dedicated 20 years of her professional life to FC Metz with rare consistency and commitment. First in communications, then as general secretary from 2012, before becoming the club’s managing director in 2016. At every stage, she gave everything, carrying the club’s colours with a sense of pride and standards that commanded admiration," the Lorraine-based club said.

Hélène Schrub will ensure continuity in the club’s management "over the coming weeks, pending the appointment of her successor," the club chaired by Bernard Serin added. According to local media reports, Anne-Claire Mangel, deputy managing director of FC Metz Stadium SAS, the club’s subsidiary dedicated to the operation of the Stade Saint-Symphorien, is expected to succeed her.
