"I do not want the current situation at FIFA to impact on the current situation at UEFA," stated Michel Platini, the president of UEFA, at the press conference held in Paris (FRA) on 10/06/2015 a year to the day before the opening match of Euro 2016.

"This press conference was scheduled for months, long before the events at FIFA. One day, when it's time, I will speak about the future of the international federation and about my personal future, but this is neither the time nor the place," added Platini.

Before the press conference, Michel Platini and Jacques Lambert, the president of EURO 2016 SAS, was received for 45 minutes at the Elysee Palace by François Hollande, the president of France, to whom they symbolically handed the first ticket for Euro 2016, to mark the opening, on 10/06/2015, of the ticketing application phase for the general public (1 million tickets).
