2026 World Cup: "Soccer Celebrations" organised by MLS clubs during the event in North America

Major League Soccer and its clubs have partnered to organise "Soccer Celebrations" in North America during the 2026 World Cup, the North American league announced on 19 May 2026.

Among the activations put in place as part of this initiative:
• the presence of the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC in the fan zones set up in the New York metropolitan area;
• the organisation of events and broadcasts by Chicago Fire FC at the Recess West Loop in Chicago (Illinois);
• the setting up of a "football festival" at Shell Energy Stadium (Houston, Texas) by Houston Dynamo FC;
• the special construction of a football pitch atop a maritime vessel in Elliott Bay by Seattle Sounders FC (Seattle, Washington).

"U.S.-based MLS clubs will be featured across local FOX programming throughout the tournament, with select clubs appearing in recurring weekly or daily segments in their respective markets," also said MLS, adding that a "record number" of players from the league will participate in the World Cup. The American league's regular season will be paused on 24 May and will resume on 16 July.
