Women’s Bundesliga: record 653,750 spectators in 2025-26 following expansion from 12 to 14 clubs

The 2025-26 Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga season set a new cumulative attendance record, with a total of 653,750 spectators in the stadiums, for an average of 3,592 per match, the Deutscher Fussball Bund announced on 20 May 2026.

The previous record dated back to the 2023-24 season, with an average of 2,875 spectators per match and cumulative attendance of 379,653. However, the record set in 2025-26 is also explained by the expansion from 12 to 14 clubs in the German women’s top division, increasing the number of matches played from 132 until 2024-25 to 182.

The 2025-26 season established another record on the opening matchday, with 57,762 spectators at the Allianz Arena on 06 September 2025 for FC Bayern Munich - Bayer 04 Leverkusen (2-0), the highest attendance ever recorded for a league match.
