MLS/Apple: LA Galaxy - Houston Dynamo FC to be broadcast live using the iPhone 17 Pro for the first time

LA Galaxy - Houston Dynamo FC, a regular season fixture in the 2026 Major League Soccer season, will be broadcast live in full using the iPhone 17 Pro on Saturday 23 May 2026, the US company Apple announced on 21 May 2026.

This will be "the first live professional sporting event captured entirely on iPhone," according to Apple, which owns the global broadcasting rights to MLS since 2023 (see below). The group had already used the iPhone 17 Pro to capture some footage of an MLB match in September 2025.

"iPhone 17 Pro will capture live footage throughout the match, including team warmups on the pitch, player introductions, in-net goal angles, and the atmosphere inside the stadium. With cameras positioned throughout the venue, the broadcast will deliver the pristine video quality fans expect, alongside dynamic new perspectives that bring viewers closer to the action, made possible by the small form factor of iPhone," Apple added.
