Manchester City FC: new North Stand at Etihad Stadium renamed in tribute to Pep Guardiola

The North Stand at Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City FC (Premier League), has been renamed “The Pep Guardiola Stand” in tribute to the club’s Spanish manager, who will leave at the end of the 2025-26 season after 10 years, MCFC announced on 22 May 2026.

The stand was officially renamed on 24/05 during the home match against Aston Villa (1-2) on the final matchday of the 2025-26 Premier League season. The occasion also marked the inauguration of the expanded version of the stand, increasing Etihad Stadium’s capacity to 61,000 seats (from 53,480 previously), following redevelopment works launched in late 2023.

The stand is also part of a wider entertainment district project around Etihad Stadium, including the “Medlock Square” fan activation area, a 401-room hotel, a new club museum, retail outlets, office spaces, restaurants and bars.

Pep Guardiola, who joined Manchester City in 2016-17, won six Premier League titles, five Carabao Cup, three Emirates FA Cup and one Champions League with the English club.
