2025-26 Premier League: record audience figures for Sky Sports in the UK, up 25%

Sky Sports has recorded a 25% increase in audiences for Premier League matches broadcast on its channels in the UK in 2025-26, according to several British media outlets reporting figures communicated by the broadcaster on 27 May 2026.

This marks Sky Sports’ best audience figures for a Premier League season, after the broadcaster had recorded a 10% drop in Premier League viewership during the 2024-25 season. Audience figures for TNT Sports, the league’s other broadcaster, have not yet been released. The group had, meanwhile, recorded a 17% decline in viewership in 2024-25.

The 2025-26 season was the first under the English league’s new domestic TV rights cycle, which covers the 2025-2029 period for a total of £6.7bn (€7.8bn as of 04/12/2023), or £1.67bn per year (€1.96bn).

Sky broadcasts a “minimum” of 215 live matches per season (up from 128 during the 2022-2025 cycle), while TNT Sports broadcasts 52, unchanged from the previous cycle. The BBC retains the free-to-air rights to broadcast highlights from all 380 matches.
