FIFA: resignation of Walter De Gregorio as director of communications and public affairs

"Walter De Gregorio (SUI/ITA) has decided to relinquish his office with immediate effect as director of communications and public affairs," announced FIFA on 11/06/2015.

"He joined FIFA on 14/09/2011 and will serve FIFA on a consultancy basis until the end of this year," said the international federation. The Frenchman Nicolas Maingot, who was the deputy of Walter De Gregorio, will hold the post on an interim basis, as he did before De Gregorio's arrival.

  • "Walter has worked incredibly hard for the past four years and we are immensely grateful for all he has done. I am glad we will be able to continue to draw on his expertise until the end of the year" stated Jérôme Valcke, the FIFA secretary general, on 11/06/2015.
