FC Barcelona: presidential elections will take place on 18/07/2015

FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) announced, on 10/06/2015, that the club's presidential elections will take place on Saturday 18/07/2015. This announcement follows the resignation of Josep Maria Bartomeu, the current president, on 09/06/2015.

Josep Maria Bartomeu announced on 07/01/2015 that the elections for president, initially scheduled for the end of the 2015-16 season, would have to be brought forward to the end of the 2014-15 season. "By bringing forward the election date, we want to reduce the disproportionate pressure that the club is currently under," stated Josep Maria Bartomeu at the time, making reference to the Neymar case and the club's recruitment ban for 2015 to justify the change of date.

Josep Maria Bartomeu will be a candidate in the elections which will be organised at the Camp Nou on 18/07/2015, from 9:00 to 21:00 CET.
