• "In the future, we will be able to consider playing league matches abroad. This is part of the plans officially announced today by UEFA and FIFA. Whilst no provision had been made for this in the past, it is now possible to do so by following a procedure - the same one we applied on an ad hoc basis to host the Milan-Como match in Perth (Australia). I think this will happen. I know it’s not popular with fans, but it’s a way of promoting Serie A abroad and thus generating greater revenue from international TV rights," Ezio Simonelli, president of Lega Serie A, told Rai Radio 1 on 25 May 2026.

• The main shareholders of Sevilla FC (LALIGA EA Sports) have rejected a €450m takeover proposal led by former Spain international Sergio Ramos and his investor partners.
