Liga BBVA: Qatar Airways to extend shirt sponsor deal with Barcelona for €60m per year until 2019-20

The airline Qatar Airways is expected to extend its shirt sponsorship with FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) until 2019-20, according to the Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo on 09/06/2015.

The current contract is set to expire after the 2015-16 season. The airline pays a total of €96m, excluding bonuses, for the 2013-14 to 2015-16 period, or an average of €32m per year. The new contract extension is estimated to be €60m per year -- nearly double -- according to Mundo Deportivo. The contract will be subject to a vote from the club's socios, according to Josep Maria Bartomeu, the president of Barça. The presidential elections to FC Barcelona will be held Saturday 18/07/2015.
