RCD Espanyol: launch of new brand identity “REBELS D’ARREL”

RCD Espanyol (LALIGA EA Sports) unveiled “REBELS D’ARREL,” their new brand identity, "built on the values that have always defined the club: rebellion, authenticity, commitment and pride," on 28 May 2026.

The name emphasises the club’s Catalan identity through the use of the word arrel (“root” in Catalan), reflecting an identity deeply rooted in its origins and history.

The launch is accompanied by a manifesto-style video "highlighting the pride of following its own path, that of the Pericos (the nickname given to RCD Espanyol players and supporters), loyalty to a way of life and the emotional bond that has united the club with its supporters and its territory for more than 125 years."

RCD Espanyol recall that "the club was born when a group of young students from the University of Barcelona decided to break away from the established path and create their own. Through ‘REBELS D’ARREL’, the club seeks to reinforce an identity consistent with what it has always been: authentic in its way of being, committed to its community and proud of its heritage."
