Italy: worst audience since March 2024 for Luxembourg - Italy on Rai 1 (4 million viewers)

Luxembourg - Italy (0-1), a friendly match, drew an average of 4 million viewers on the public-TV channel Rai 1 on Wednesday 03 June 2026 (kick-off at 20:45 CET), according to data from the audience measurement institute Auditel.

This figure represented an audience share of 21.7%. This was the worst audience for an Italy match since the Italian national team's friendly against Venezuela (2-1 win) on 21 March 2024, which drew an average of 3.89 million viewers for an audience share of 23% on Rai 1 (Auditel data).

Bosnia-Herzegovina - Italy (1-1, 4-1 on penalties), final of the 2026 World Cup European play-off, drew an average of 12.162 million viewers on Rai 1 on Tuesday 31 March 2026 (kick-off at 20:45 CET), according to Auditel. Audience share: 53.4%.

Italy has not qualified for the 2026 World Cup. The Italian national team had already missed out on the 2018 and 2022 editions.
