LFP: "L1 Innovation Lab" initiative launched to encourage innovation in match broadcasting

The Ligue de Football Professionnel has launched the L1 Innovation Lab programme "designed to structure, manage, and accelerate the innovative initiatives of LFP Media" for the broadcasting of its competitions, the LFP announced on 4 June 2026.

The program has been presented to Ligue 1 McDonald’s international broadcast partners by the league’s media and production department during the World Broadcaster Meeting held from 1 to 2 June 2026. The event aimed to "review the innovations deployed during the 2025-26 season and unveil the key directions of the innovation strategy for the upcoming season," according to the LFP.

Regarding the L1 Innovation Lab, the LFP outlined several key objectives:
• "to identify the challenges that innovation is expected to address;
• to structure the testing and deployment phases;
• to provide greater visibility into the implementation timeline for new solutions."
