WSL Football: a multi-year partnership with Airbnb to launch a £1m accommodation fund for players

Airbnb, a Californian accommodation rental platform, has entered into a multi-year partnership with Women's Super League Football for the Barclays Women's Super League and Barclays Women's Super League 2, both parties announced on 4 June 2026.

The agreement provides for the launch of a £1m player accommodation fund to provide short-term accommodation for all players and support them during moves to Barclays WSL and Barclays WSL2 clubs. "A sample of players demonstrated that players in some cases spent up to £1,000 to cover costs associated with accommodation. It was highlighted that relocation is the most challenging part of the transfer window," according to Airbnb. This fund will be available for players directly through WSL Football from the summer 2026 transfer window onwards.

This partnership builds on both Airbnb's commitment to women’s football, with the brand being an official supporter of the Women's World Cup 2027, and on previous initiatives from the group to facilitate accommodation for athletes.
