AS Saint-Étienne : "Our commitment to the club is unwavering" (Larry Tanenbaum)

"Our commitment to AS Saint-Étienne is unwavering. We are here because this club is unique: because of its history, its supporters, its stadium, its city and its place in French football. We know what ASSE represents, both on the pitch and in the life of this city and region, and we fully understand the responsibility that comes with it," Larry Tanenbaum, owner of AS Saint-Étienne (Ligue 2 BKT), said in an open letter published on the club’s website on 4 June 2026.

The Canadian businessman, who has owned ASSE through his family holding company Kilmer Sports Ventures since June 2024, spoke six days after the club’s 4-1 defeat to OGC Nice in the second leg of the promotion/relegation play-off, which ended its hopes of returning to Ligue 1 McDonald's for the 2026-27 season.
