Germany/DFL: VfL Wolfsburg’s pitch named best in the 2025-26 Bundesliga

VfL Wolfsburg’s pitch at the Volkswagen Arena (Wolfsburg, 30,000 capacity) has been named the best pitch in the Bundesliga for the 2025-26 season, the Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) announced on 3 June 2026.

The club, which were relegated to the 2.Bundesliga at the end of the season, finished ahead of Bayer 04 Leverkusen and the BayArena (30,210 capacity), as well as TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, which play at the PreZero Arena (30,150 capacity), a venue that will be renamed SNP Arena from the 2026-27 season.

VfL Wolfsburg thus won the 13^th edition of the “Pitch of the Year” trophy, first awarded by the DFL in the 2013-14 season.

The trophies were presented during the 18^th meeting of the groundsmen of the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga clubs. On this occasion, Holstein Kiel (Holstein-Stadion) also received the “Pitch of the Year” trophy for the best pitch in the German second division in 2025-26, ahead of VfL Bochum 1848 (Vonovia Ruhrstadion) and SV Darmstadt 98 (Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor).
