FIFA/2026 World Cup: $250m distributed to clubs for final tournament, at least $5,000 per player per day

The $355m (€300m) that FIFA will distribute to clubs through the FIFA Club Benefits Programme for the 2026 World Cup will be divided into two allocations, with $250m dedicated to the final tournament and $100m to the qualifiers, the body announced on 5 June 2026.

This record amount, up 70% compared with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar ($209m/€188m distributed to 440 clubs), will benefit a record number of clubs as the programme has been extended to matches in the qualification phase for the 2026 World Cup, covering a total of 1,009 matches across all stages.

Regarding the distribution of funds to clubs:
• $250m (€217m) will go to clubs whose players participate in the final tournament through payments made “on a per-player, per-day basis, taking into account both squad inclusion and the duration of each player’s involvement”. The minimum expected return is approximately $5,000 (€4,300) per player, per day.
