Twitter: CEO Dick Costolo resigns, co-founder Jack Dorsey takes over temporarily

Dick Costolo resigned his post as the CEO of the social network Twitter, effective from 01/07/2015, announced the company on 11/06/2015. Jack Dorsey, a co-founder of the company in 2007 and chairman of the board, has been appointed the interim CEO.

Dick Costolo will remain on the board of Twitter. Jack Dorsey will remain the CEO of Square, an online payment services company, which he co-founded in 2009. "We have great leaders who work well together and a clear strategy that informs our objectives and priorities," said Dick Costolo on 11/06/2015. "Dick has put a world-­class team in place and created a great foundation from which Twitter can continue to change the world and grow," said Jack Dorsey on 11/06/2015.
