Tennis/Wimbledon 2026: record prize money (£64.2m/€74.2m) after historic 20% increase

The prize money for the 2026 edition of Wimbledon has reached a record £64.2m (€74.2m as of 11 June 2026), a 20% increase on 2025 (£53.5m/€61.7m as of 13 July 2025) and a 73.5% increase compared with 2019 (£37m/€42.4m), the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), the tournament organiser, announced on 11 June 2026. The 2026 edition of the London-based Grand Slam tournament is scheduled to take place from 29 June to 12 July 2026.

The £10.7m (€12.4m) increase represents "by far the biggest annual increase in the history of the event." Prize money allocated to the qualifying competition, set at £6.5m (€7.5m), has notably increased by 25%.

"Since Covid, the All England Club has invested nearly £1bn into the sport across prize money, substantial investment into the event’s world-class facilities and services, sustained backing for the grass court season leading into The Championships (£50m since 2020), and support for British and international tennis," according to the AELTC.
