Sergio Serrano has been appointed chief financial officer of FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports), he announced on LinkedIn on 11 June 2026.

The Spaniard joins Barça after 25 years with banking group Banco Sabadell, where he held a number of senior management positions.

Serrano joins the Catalan club, whose president Joan Laporta was re-elected until 2031 on 15 March 2026. Reporting to chief executive officer Manel del Río, he will notably contribute to strengthening the club’s financial sustainability at a time when, according to several Spanish media outlets, FC Barcelona is expected to take out a new €400m loan to complete the renovation and expansion of its infrastructure project, Espai Barça, including the Spotify Camp Nou.

FC Barcelona generated revenue of €994m in the 2024-25 financial year (01 July2024 to 30 June 2025), up 11.3% compared with 2023-24 (€893m). The club projects revenue of €1.075bn for 2025-26, notably driven by the gradual return to the Spotify Camp Nou from November 2025 onwards.
