European Leagues: 14 women’s leagues join the association

European Leagues’ extraordinary general assembly approved the admission of 14 women’s professional leagues into the association, a move that "marked a significant milestone in the representation of women’s domestic football across Europe," European Leagues announced on 12 June 2026.

"For the first time, women’s professional leagues are integrated into the Association’s governance, representation and decision-making structures, creating a formal setting through which leagues can engage collectively with governing bodies, stakeholders, EU and political institutions."

• Eight leagues joined European Leagues as “members” (independent or autonomous organisations responsible for organising and managing professional top-tier women’s domestic league competitions): Pro League (Belgium), Ligaforbundet (Denmark), WSL Football (England), Íslenskur Toppfótbolti (Iceland), Northern Ireland Football League Women’s Premiership (Northern Ireland), Scottish Women’s Premier League (Scotland), Liga F (Spain) and Elitfotboll Dam (Sweden).
