United States - Paraguay (4-1), on Matchday 1 of the 2026 World Cup group stage (Group D), drew an average of 27.5 million viewers on the Fox group’s channels (18.03 million, in English) and Telemundo (9.5 million, in Spanish) in the United States on Friday 12 June 2026 (kick-off at 18:00 local time), according to data from the audience measurement institute Nielsen.

These figures are both the highest audience ever recorded for a US national team match broadcast in English during a World Cup and the highest audience recorded by a World Cup match broadcast in Spanish in the US, according to the two groups.

In the 2022 World Cup, the highest viewing figures for a US match were posted during the England - USA game (0-0, on Matchday 2 of the group stage). This match drew an average of 20 million viewers across Fox (15.4 million) and Telemundo (4.6 million), on Friday 25 November 2022 (kick-off at 14:00 on the East Coast, 11:00 on the West Coast), according to Nielsen.
