Borussia Dortmund: Serra Schlesinger appointed communications director from 1 August 2026

Serra Schlesinger was appointed communications director of Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) and will take up her position on 1 August 2026, the club announced on 16 June 2026.

"She will be responsible for the club’s entire communications operation as well as the strategic direction of all BVB communications activities. Together with her teams, Serra Schlesinger will oversee and develop the club’s internal and external communications across all channels. Her remit will notably include the development of international communications activities and social media channels. Sports communications, which will continue to be led by Sven Westerschulze, will also fall under her responsibility," the club said.

Schlesinger comes from the food retail sector, where she notably worked for Metro Group before spending 13 years at Aldi Nord, most recently as communications director.
