US Sassuolo: Veronica Squinzi (Mapei) appointed CEO following Giovanni Carnevali’s departure to Juventus

Veronica Squinzi has been appointed CEO of US Sassuolo Calcio (Serie A Enilive), the club announced on 16 June 2026.

Her appointment was decided by Mapei, an Italian construction and building materials company through which the Squinzi family owns the club. Veronica Squinzi is the daughter of Giorgio Squinzi, the club’s former president who died in 2019, and the sister of Marco Squinzi, vice-president and board member of the club. Carlo Rossi was meanwhile confirmed as president of the club, which earned promotion to the top division in 2025-26.

Veronica Squinzi had previously served as CEO of Mapei. She succeeded Giovanni Carnevali, at Sassuolo from 2014 until May 2026 before joining Juventus FC (Serie A Enilive) as CEO, replacing Damien Comolli, who left his position "by mutual consent with the clu" on 12 June 2026.
