FIFA: 8 mini-pitch facilities to be built in Mexico in 2026 with the Inter-American Development Bank

FIFA, with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank, will deliver eight FIFA Arena mini-pitch facilities "across urban and rural communities throughout Mexico" by the end of 2026, the body announced on 16 June 2026. This initiative is deployed in collaboration with the Mexican Football Federation (FMF).

"Designed to harness the power of football as a force for social good, the initiative combines high-quality sports infrastructure with community-based programmes focused on education, skills development, social inclusion and violence prevention. FIFA Arena will provide safe and accessible spaces where children, young people and families can come together to play, learn and thrive," according to FIFA, which will "place a particular emphasis on increasing participation opportunities for girls and young women."
