Bundesliga: an average of 42,285 spectators per game (+9%) & a 97.2% stadium fill rate in 2025-26

The 18 Bundesliga clubs recorded an average attendance of 42,285 spectators per match during the 2025-26 season, up 9.4% on 2024-25 (38,657 spectators). This increase was however solely due to a higher overall commercial stadium capacity than in the previous season, following the promotion of 1. FC Köln and Hamburger SV, whose combined commercial stadium capacities are 2.6 times greater than those of VfL Bochum and Holstein Kiel, relegated to 2.Bundesliga at the end of the 2024-25 season.

The Bundesliga was the best-attended league among the European Top 5, ahead of the Premier League (41,621 spectators per match on average). Germany’s top flight thus welcomed a total of 12.9 million spectators, compared with 11.8 million in 2024-25.

With 81,365 spectators per match at Signal Iduna Park (81,365 capacity), Borussia Dortmund recorded the highest attendance in the Bundesliga in 2025-26, ahead of FC Bayern Munich (75,000 spectators) and VfB Stuttgart (59,441).
