Rugby: French Rugby League in talks with FC Barcelona to stage Top 14 semi-finals at Camp Nou from 2031

"The board has expressed its intention to organise an edition of the semi-finals in Barcelona from 2031 onwards," the French Rugby League (LNR) announced on 18 June 2026.

The LNR said it will continue discussions initiated several months ago with FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports) and the City of Barcelona with a view to staging Top 14 semi-finals at a fully renovated Spotify Camp Nou. The Top 14 final remains covered by a separate agreement with Stade de France (Saint-Denis, close to Paris, FRA) running until 2055, although it retains the possibility of organising finals elsewhere under certain conditions.

"Following the success of the 2016 Top 14 final, which attracted 99,164 spectators at Camp Nou, the LNR wishes to open a new chapter in the history of the Top 14 in Barcelona," the French Rugby League added.

At the same time, the LNR awarded hosting rights for the Top 14 semi-finals for the 2027-28, 2028-29 and 2029-30 seasons. The event will be staged at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon (59,286 capacity) in 2028, the Decathlon Arena - Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille (50,186 capacity) in…
