Manchester United: land acquisition completed for future 100,000 capacity stadium

Manchester United FC (Premier League) has confirmed the acquisition of "the majority of the land required to build a new 100,000-seater stadium, marking a major milestone in the long-term vision to transform the Old Trafford area," on 22 June 2026.

This 10.1-hectare site is located 350 meters from the current Old Trafford stadium (74,879 capacity). The construction of the new venue is expected to provide the Manchester club the largest stadium in the United Kingdom, moving it ahead of its current position as the third-largest ground, surpassing Wembley (90,000 seats) and Twickenham (80,000 seats).

The site, covering an area of 10.1 hectares, is situated 350 metres from the current Old Trafford stadium (74,879 seats).
