CAS: Lille to pay €300,000 in training compensation to Genk (BEL) for the transfer of Origi

"The Court of Arbitration for Sport overturned the decision of the dispute resolution chamber of FIFA dated 27/02/2014, denying the request of KRC Genk for training compensation from LOSC Lille for the transfer of the player Divock Origi. The CAS has ordered LOSC Lille to pay training compensation of €300,000 to KRC Genk," announced the CAS on 15/06/2015.

Divock Origi, a Belgian international striker, moved from KRC Genk (Jupiler Pro League) to LOSC Lille (Ligue 1) on a free transfer at the age of 15 in 2010. The Belgian club appealed to the dispute resolution chamber of FIFA that it should receive training compensation as part of the transfer. The appeal of KRC Genk was dismissed by the international federation on 27/02/2014, Genk then appealed the decision to CAS on 10/07/2014.
