IOC: "Fit for the Future" strategic plan approved; $10,000 grant to be offered to every Olympian

Members of the International Olympic Committee, gathered at the 146th IOC Session, approved by a show of hands the strategic directions resulting from the "Fit for the Future" consultation process launched in September 2025 by president Kirsty Coventry in Lausanne (SUI) on 24 June 2026.

The implementation of these commitments takes the form of a series of amendments to the Olympic Charter. The “Fit for the Future” process, as presented at the IOC Session, is structured around five themes — athletes, the Olympic Games, the Olympic Movement, Olympic impact, and commitments and revenue generation — examined by nine working groups, with the support of the Athletes’ Commission and the Future Host Commission.
